Thank You Ma'm.

Mr. Romero, could you please grade me on my transitions and my voice. thanks -- briana c.

Do you enjoy reading Langton Hughes' novels? Have you ever read one of his stories called Thank You M'am? The Story was was very interesting to read and the more i read through the lines, the more things start to pop out. The conflict really got attention through out the story. The climax includes man v.s. self, man v.s. society, and man v.s man

In this situation, i like the whole man v.s self in the story called Thank M'am. The reason why is because the man v.s self is dealing with Roger and himself. He goes against deciding whether he should run like he has been doing for the longest or stay put and takes what coming. Roger decides to stay and a nice outcome has came about because so.

Nevertheless, in the story, man v.s society happens. Man v.s. society deals with Roger and him wanting to get blue suede shoes. Roger attempts to steal Ms. LBWJ's purse so that he could afford the shoes. At the end where Ms. LBWJ shows him out and hands him ten dollars. After all that fuss about stealing the purse, he is handed ten dollars. Whether he decides to buy the shoes or buy food or other needed things is up to Roger.

Lastly, man v.s man is all through out the story. Man v.s man is Roger v.s Ms. LBWJ. Roger fights to take her purse and Ms. LBWJ fights to drag him back to her house to wash is face because it's dirty. She kicks him in the butt and puts Roger in a head lock, while he struggles to get away and run.

In Final Consideration, the story Thank M'am is a great story by Langston Hughes. There is really more to the story then just reading it word by word and just taking what it actually says. The conflict deals with man v.s self, man v.s society, and man v.s. man. The ending of the story is not clearly understood. It doesn't tell what Roger does with the money. So, what do you think Roger did the money? Do you think he brought the shoes or brought something way more important then the shoes?

Topic Selection

i choose James Madison for my NHD Project because I am interested in finding out what he actually did for the Constitution and the Bill Of Rights.

This person is important to history because without their efforts, the Bill Of Rights wouldn't be what it is today, in the Constitution (document).

For this week's research, I found an article at http://www.whitehouse.gov/history/presidents/jm4.html. I will read and summarize it for next week.

Graduation 2012

Mr. Romero, could you please grade me on my introduction and my conclusion. thanks -- briana c.

What motivates you to keeping moving on successfully in life? A couple of people may have the same motivation, but not all are the same. To help me graduate in the year 2012, i have a few things that really motivates me to keep pushing forward. My motivations are, my family, my talents for school, and my determination.

First of all, my family helps me stay focus and everything! No matter what i decide my mom may have her opinions, but at the end she really makes me realize what's right and what's the right choice. Just hearing her say, "you better graduate, you don't want to see the outcome later", really makes me want to do better than great. I really don't want my niece and nephew and the rest of the family see me fail at succeeding, at all.

Second, your talents in school will really take anyone far. Always paying attention, focusing on the current things that could really change people's lives for the better. Being extremely intelligent can take anyone far in life. If their best efforts are given when shown their talents, then everything should work out.

Lastly, determination is really important. No determination means no will-power. That just means that people just doesn't want bigger and better things for themselves. Determination shows that there's passion about making a life worth living and successful.

In conclusion, people have different things that motivates them on to a successful life. So, what makes you move forward in life? What's make you push on even though you may not to? My family, my talents for school, and my determination really makes me want to graduate in the year 2012. It even makes me want to do much more for myself.

Presidential Election ‘08

Presidential Election ‘08
Who should the be the next president of the United States?

When election day comes, who have you decided to give your vote to? Better yet, what are your reasons why you will be voting for either Barack Obama or John McCain? Before you stand by the whole black vs. white when you look at these two, make your decisions off what might be best the country. My main focuses are the education and the Iraq issue. When Obama takes the title of president to make a change, what might he do about the our education? When McCain gets in to office and wants to make a difference, what might he do about the soldiers in Iraq?

First of all, Barack Obama wants to do a lot for this country, he’s always talking about change. He discusses a lot about education and has already told what he will being doing for the Iraq issue. Obama speaks strongly about making college affordable. The average student would have to pay at least thirty thousand dollars to at least attend college. Obama wants tuition tax credits for all college students so that college is a little last affordable. He also wants to improve public schools. Obama would like to make science and math education a national priority. He wants to organize effective teachers for success and reward the them for their expertise as a teacher. The law called, No Child Left Behind, has flaws that needs to be taken care of before applying again. There is so much that Obama wants to do for the early childhood education, high school, and college education. When Obama get in to office, he speaks about withdrawing all combat brigades, one or two combat brigades a month, from Iraq in his first 16 months. He opposed going in to war in ‘02. Barack Obama really does want to make a change.

Next, John McCain wants to make a difference just as Barack Obama does. The way he goes about doing so, is really different though. It seems as though McCain is strongly attached to the education issue too but is not as positive. Simply stating that parents should just move students out of failing schools. He wants to determine how teachers will be paid by their performances, not just having a standard pay and raising it for good performances. Basically he’s saying that, good teachers need to be rewarded and bad teachers need to find a new job. He supports the law, No Child Left Behind and thinks that it should be udated. But he believes that it’s only just the beginning of education modification. The way he wants to handle the Iraq issue when he gets in to office would be, withdrawing only if Iraq is secure. He wants to not waste any more time on trying to get our soldiers out of Iraq but McCain does not believe in a withdrawal timetable. McCain was all for the war against Iraq in ‘02. John McCain also wants to make a difference.

To sum it all up, Barack Obama and John McCain are two strong competitors when it comes to making a bigger and better change for this country. For the education issue, both of the two, has great thoughts on how that would run the education system. They both agree to reward skillful teachers for there performances and expertise. Also, they agree that the law, No Child Left Behind, is a good one but needs improvement. I agree with both Obama and McCain, if a teacher is suppose to be the educator, and the performance is just not there, then what is there to approve of. Parents send off their child to come back home and enlighten them. Education has to improve and they have a great look on what it is suppose to be. Obama and McCain may have agreed a little on the education issue but they absolutely differ when talking about the Iraq issue. Obama wants to withdrawal solders in a timetable, McCain has no timetable. Barack opposed going to war in ‘02, McCain supported the war. I agree with Obama one hundred percent. He has made hope for both the soldiers and their families about the arrival back to the country with the timetable. Also, who supports a harsh and deadly war when it comes to mostly sending our Americans over to be killed.

In conclusion, Barack Obama has his mind set to make a change and John McCain has his mind set to make a difference when they get in to office. When Barack Obama gets in to office, what are more changes that will come about? When John McCain gets in to office, he wants to make a difference, will he actually do just that? So when voting day comes, you have more than one reason to stand by Obama other then, he’s black. More one reason to stand by McCain, other then he’s a former solider. So many reasons and people only choose the ones that are less important then the ones that are extremely important. When voting day comes I know actually who I will be voting for because I stand by good reasons.

In ten years i'll be...

In ten years, hopefully, i will be very successful with my life and job. If not, then knowing that i am on the right path towards that success that i hope to gain. I hope to gain much knowledge about life's surroundings and be able to share my experiences to the younger ones in my family and other people who needs a little of help. To be a role model to younger kids wouldn't be bad either, it would be kinda cool knowing that you have little people looking to you for good behavior and the support. Always knowing that one bad move could get you on the hate list. Basically i would like to just be successful in life and get somewhere far in life while always keeping a great attitude and personality.
